Updated 9/1/14 When Pope Francis was questioned on homosexuality, his reply was, “Who am I to judge?” Although the Pope might not feel comfortable judging one’s sexual orientation, administrators at Cor Jesu Academy, a Catholic all-girls school in St. Louis, are perfectly comfortable doing so. According to insiders forbidden from discussing the situation, two women …
This makes me sick too. I really want to just take a sign and stand out by the parking lot and have it say something short about this. More importantly, high-school girls and really everyone else deserve to know that LGBTAQ are just as beautiful, loved, and accepted as all PEOPLE should be! Cor Jesu needs to understand that the message they are sending to their students is that LGBTAQ is that they are unappreciated and incapable of doing great things. Cor Jesu girls (and everyone else) need to understand that sexuality should not matter WE ARE TALKING ABOUT PEOPLE LOSING THEIR JOBS OVER LOVING ONE ANOTHER! With all the hate and crime that is going on in Saint Louis… you would think we would appreciate some love and meet it with understanding instead of spreading more unnecessary hate!
Losing some of their financial support is not enough of a message in my eyes. Cor Jesu needs to be shown that this injustice, this discrimination will not be tolerated! Please keep spreading the word that IT GETS BETTER so that EVERYONE who has ever been affected by situations like these, hears the message.
I wish I knew how to contact the teachers and raise awareness and funds for them as they attempt to settle into new jobs. I can’t imagine trying to start over on a teacher’s salary. Keep these teachers, students, administrators, LGBTAQ, and all those being discriminated against in your positive thoughts and prayers.
IF anyone would like to do a silent protest and or have a productive way of helping spread the word, etc. I’ll gladly help.
